Sheffield legend sets World Record dunking biscuit from bungee jump

The most British world record in history

| UPDATED

A truly British hero was born today, as Sheffield born Simon Berry dunked his way into the Guinness World Records.

Simon has set a new world record as he successfully completed the highest ‘bungee dunk’ as part of Guinness World Records Day. And this sets the record for the most quintessentially British world record in history too.

The thrill seeker leapt from a 75m (246ft) platform and managed to dunk a chocolate Hobnob into a cup of tea, appropriately adorned with a Union jack.

Ponytail tightened and armed with a Go-Pro, the footage is simply majestic. After plummeting to the ground, the moment of truth is precise and delicate. Just look at the grace and beauty.

Following his dive, Simon said: “It was pretty difficult – the team helped by getting me roughly in there in the right place, but going down and having to nail that cup of tea was pretty tricky.

“(It was) absolutely incredible – the feeling in my chest and seeing everyone’s smiles, it was fantastic.”
