Pop Tarts are hosting a David Bowie tribute night

Put on those red shoes and dance the blues

After the death of music legend David Bowie, the SU is going to hold a tribute night in his memory.

On Saturday the 23rd of January, Pop Tarts will host a David Bowie themed night, in honour of the much loved ‘star man’, who died of liver cancer less than a week ago.

The death of David Bowie has hit the world like a ton of bricks, and has seen people from all ages and all walks of life visiting murals and taking to social media in his memory.

Whether you’re a lover of the original classics like Space Oddity, a Ziggy Stardust fan or you’ve simply heard your mum blasting a few of his hits out in the car over the years, the SU will be playing his music all night in tribute to his life.

The star man himself

Rosa Tarling, an English Literature finalist, said: “I think it’s great that the SU is paying tribute to David Bowie, he was such a huge musical influence throughout our lives and I’ll definitely be going along.

“I’ll probably well up when I hear everybody singing Space Oddity though, I’ve always loved Major Tom!”
