Police called to Davison Building at 4am after someone was stabbed in the bum

The building has been cordoned off all day

Police were called to the Davison Building this morning after a man was stabbed in the buttocks at 4am last night.

Around 10 men were understood to be running round campus shouting and fighting over the course of the evening. The site has been cordoned off all day, blocking the entrance to the shop and the McCrea.

Surrey Police confirmed this afternoon they received a call from a man at the BP petrol station who had been stabbed in the buttocks. They believe he knew his attackers.

Eye witnesses on the SSHH bus told The Royal Holloway Tab that there were police on site from around 11pm, and officers were seen looking through the bushes with torches by the Windsor building.

Neighbourhood Commander Nick Pinkerton said: "I want to reassure students, staff and the public that this was a very unusual incident and my officers are working hard to secure CCTV and other evidence, with support from Royal Holloway, to find and arrest the individuals responsible.

"If you saw or heard anything that you think could help our investigation, or if you have footage or photos from the altercation outside the library and shop area, please contact police urgently – either by calling 101, or speaking to an officer in person. I am aware that the students will be heading home for Christmas shortly, and I would like to speak to any students who can help our investigation before they leave."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference PR/45180132338.
