UoN campus has the highest rate of Covid in the entire country

What an achievement x

New data released on Friday reveals that Notts’ biggest student areas, Lenton Abbey, University Park campus and Jubilee Campus, currently have the highest rate of Covid-19 in the country.

Coming in at close second is Nottingham Trent and the surrounding areas.

The right hand column shows new cases from the 1st- 7th October, with a staggering 757 cases per 100,000 coming out of Nottingham’s most popular student areas.

The table illustrates all Covid-19 cases (with a positive lab-confirmed result) in England by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA). MSOAs are small areas with around 7,200 average population.

This follows the news that Nottingham itself currently has the highest rate of Covid-19 in England.

It is expected that Boris Johnson will address these concerns in his speech today, where he is likely to announce lockdown measures and a new-three tier coronavirus restriction system that will come into place shortly.
