44 per cent of Mancunians can’t get through the week without a cup of tea, according to TimeOut

Catherine PlaskittA recent survey conducted by TimeOut has named Manchester as the 15th best city in the world. That's not all though, as apparently 44 per cent of residents admittedly can't get through the week without a good cuppa, and 79 per cent without a good laugh.
With New York, Melbourne, Chicago, London and Los Angeles taking the top five places, Manchester was noted among cities including Tokyo, Berlin and Paris as having unbeatable features.
Home to the highest percent of drinkers in the world, Mancunians clearly know how to have a good time but also have to face the consequences. 25 days a year are spent hanging according to TimeOut's statistics, more hangovers than any other city.
Praise has also been given to Manchester's nightlife (which explains the hangovers), with two thirds of locals claiming the city boasts an amazing night out.
Based on opinions and experiences of 34,000 people from 48 of the world's cities in a survey conducted this year, The Time Out Index takes into account eating, drinking, nightlife, culture, community, transport, relationships and happiness to uncover the world's top city.
