UCL soars in rankings to become top uni in London

Oh and we’re 7th in the world too

This morning saw the release of the QS World University Rankings, and we’ve been branded the best university in the UK outside of Oxbridge.

We’ve left the local poly’s quivering in our intellectual shadow with a score of 97.2 compared with Imperial’s 96.1, King’s’ 91.0 and LSE’s 86.2. Overall London killed it though, and the capital is the only city in the world with 4 universities in the top 50.

The world top ten

Despite dropping from last year’s fifth position, we’ve smashed it on a domestic stage and are ranked third in the UK overall, for Arts and Humanities and Life Sciences and Medicine.

Second year Psychology student Becky Hill was cynical of the result and said, “I honestly don’t know how we do so well in these world rankings every year, The Guardian reckon we’re, like, 12th in the UK.

“I’m not complaining though.”
