PAUSE: In Motion

Monday saw the launch of Liverpool’s newest club night – PAUSE.

PAUSE in motion – now there’s a paradox you need to get your head around.

Monday 25 January saw the launch of Liverpool’s newest club night – PAUSE – which promised to bring a brand new sound to the city as it hosts the first ever solely UK Garage and Old School House night at The Shipping Forecast.

Hundreds of students and party-goers alike turned out in the hope of gaining entry.

Unfortunately, many were left disappointed as The Shipping Forecast reached capacity in record time.

The Tab caught up with one of the minds behind PAUSE the following day. John McAndrew coyly admitted to being in a ‘very fragile state’, however, he did say: “We are both over the moon with how good [PAUSE] was last night […] feedback has been fantastic.”

He added: “At 10:45 I sent a nervous text to a friend to check he was on his way down. 45 minutes later we were full with a queue stretching down the road! […] We are really sorry for those who made the trip out but didn’t get in. We are having a think of ways to compensate those people as we don’t want anyone feeling bitter…”

That was on Tuesday… It’s now Friday and The Tab can exclusively reveal, due to immensely popular demand, the next PAUSE night will definitely go ahead on Monday the 25 February, same place, same price, same time.

For the next event, Andy Hill and John McAndew will be performing their own individual sets then going B2B for the final hour.

A new mix will be available online as of 8 February so watch this space….

If you haven’t already heard the first mix, click here. (if you have already, listen again)

A competition for the best B2B DJ name for their final set with also be launched in conjunction with the new mix, so get thinking!

In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for the launch night video.
