An outdoor ice rink is coming to Lancaster

The Borough is bringing Christmas to Dalton Square

| UPDATED

Get your skates on, because from November 22nd 2018 until January 5th 2019 there will be a brand new ice rink in Dalton Square, Lancaster City Centre. The rink will be open from 10 am until 10 pm daily, except on Christmas day.

Every year Lancaster receives a visit from the Coca-Cola truck, but this year The Borough hotel and restaurant have managed to bring an outdoor ice rink to the city.

Hannah Horner, owner of The Borough, stated "Following on from the recent success of Lancaster Pride in Dalton Square we hope this will help further demonstrate the wonderful potential Lancaster has for large-scale events."

'Lancaster On Ice' will be situated between Dalton Square and Sulyard Street and there will be food, drink and Christmas markets available in the space and a changing area for skaters too. Up to 200 skaters can be on the ice at a time and an hour will cost £7/6 for children and £10/8 for adults, including skate hire.

The ice rink and surrounding Christmas markets are bound to be the perfect place for families, students and locals and are expected to bring in lots of trade for other local businesses.

The Borough have estimated there will be around 30,000 skaters over the festive period, so if you are very keen and fancy booking ahead for Early Bird tickets you can do so here.

Finally something festive to do (that isn't just the annual Christmas markets or a Christmas-themed Sugar night)!
