Why do you choose Monday Night Heat?

‘I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere else’

Whether, like Marmite, you love Viper or you loathe it, there’s no denying it’s home to some of the biggest student club nights in Glasgow, including sports-societies-filled Viper Wednesdays and, of course, Monday Night Heat. But why is it so popular? We decided to ask Viper-loyal students what makes them pick Monday Night Heat over any other Monday club night in Glasgow.

Smiles all round for MNH

I choose Monday Night Heat because it’s a central location and easy to walk (or stumble) to. And it’s an added bonus that Barbecue Kings is right next door for a hearty portion of cheesy chips after your dance.

We all love the red cups

I go to Viper to have a real boogie. It’s one of the only clubs where you can dance like a maniac and not embarrass yourself.

Finlay and Kyle, Earth Science

Viper is where bromances are made

Finlay – Monday Night Heat is a good night because you can go with a small group and bump into loads of people you know.

Kyle – I’m from Newcastle which is famous for its nights out but Monday Night Heat is just like being back home. It has a real Geordie vibe.

If only all club photos were as cute as this one

Monday Nights at Viper have a real student vibe, unlike some of the bigger clubs in the city centre. You go because you know the crowd is going to be good.

Viper is the place to be with your squad

Natalie – I like going to Viper on a Monday because you can celebrate the start of the week before your workload gets too much.

Katie – I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere else on a Monday…

Kerrie – I live for the jugs of dragon soup. What other club does that?

Tash and Harriet, Dentistry and History

Little do we know, they’re wearing trainers

Tash – Viper on a Monday is perfect for me because I have a 1pm lecture on Tuesdays – cue the lie in. I’m also a secret fan of the club photos…

Harriet – Monday Night Heat is perfect for me because you can wear trainers – who doesn’t like to be comfy when they’re making some moves? It’s the funnest night of the week. Saturday and Sundays are overrated.

Thumbs up for MNH

Mondays at Viper have the best music, especially the RnB. I love the chance to get low…

Viper brings all the girls to the yard

Among other reasons, Monday Night Heat is my fave because I always make new friends in the toilets who I unfortunately won’t see again. It’s a really friendly atmosphere.
