Nearly £6k was spent on the Fourm’s Christmas decor this year alone

We can expect a mad display next year

This year £5,833 was spent on Forum Christmas decorations, not including VAT.

For the last two years the uni has spent more than £5,000 on Christmas decorations in the Forum.

When the Christmas decorations go up on the 1st, it makes us all feel Christmassy, and reminds of the impending doom of January exams.

But how much does it cost the university?

Just to run the lights and put up the decorations in the forum it costs £5833, plus VAT, which is significantly more than the £5100 of the year before, and far greater than the £4797 of two years ago.

Following this trend, we can expect a truly supreme display next year.

How much did this bad boy cost

This doesn’t even include the Christmas tree on top of the Physics building, or that new projector on Forum hill that has all those pictures of snowflakes, and jingle bells.

It sounds like a lot, but if you break it down per student the cost comes to about 30p each, or the price of half a mince pie from the market place.

We know what we’d prefer.
