We sent Tom Wallington, seasoned football fan and third year, down to St James’ Park to check it out for us.

It may not be Premier League or Championship football but a trip to St. James’ Park is definitely worth the ticket.

Aaron Davies scored for Exeter in the second half, bringing the game to life. The goal gave Exeter confidence and they went on to dominate the next 10 minutes.

The atmosphere was electric especially in the Exeter fans’ Big Bank stand, but you can usually expect a lively stadium at St James‘ no matter who is playing. Plymouth brought over 1,000 supporters and they all squeezed into the run down away-end.

The attendance was one of the highest ever seen at St James’ Park, mainly because the tickets are very reasonably priced. A student can get a spot in the Big Bank for only £7, and the seated stands are only a couple of pounds extra.

At half time there’s a decent range of traditional pies and coffee that you can buy at the stadium for a very reasonable price. St James’ Park is definitely worth a visit. The overall experience is not only cheap but very enjoyable.
