Heir today, gone tomorrow

Prince Charles and Camilla make a flying visit to Exeter Cathedral.

| UPDATED

There was a royal rumpus in Exeter this afternoon as Prince Charles and Camilla paid a visit.

The royal couple were in town to attend a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral, celebrating the success of its multi-million pound fundraising campaign.

Charles… papped

A decent crowd gathered on the Cathedral Green to welcome the couple, who waved to their fans with regal charm.

Inside the Cathedral, Prince Charles and Camilla were shown the 10th Century Exeter Book, a collection of Anglo Saxon poetry. £1million has been raised to secure the future of the Cathedral’s collection of historic books.

Exeter was the last stop for the couple, who visited North Devon and Plymouth earlier today.

The Royal Family are big fans of Exeter. The Queen famously visited last summer to open the Forum, where she saw Tab favourite Hannah Berney perform.
