Lucky Durham students run into Chris Hemsworth at Bill’s

It has been an exciting week in Durham with Hollywood stars walking the streets but Physics student Dawn Lockhart and her friend were lucky enough to meet Chris Hemsworth and even steal his wine.

Dawn et al made their way to brunch Mecca Bill’s to grab a coffee, only to see the Avengers and Thor star Chris Hemsworth sitting with some friends.

On his way out Chris posed for a picture, signed autographs and left half a bottle of wine on the table.

Knowing their Rioja from their Chianti, Dawn and co lifted the vino for themselves. From the Dinastia Vivanco region of Spain, the bottle comes in at £27.95 and is the third most expensive red Bill’s Durham offer.

Dawn posted the photo she had taken with the Norse hunk to the Overheard at Durham Uni Facebook group, where it received more than 230 likes within three hours.

Dawn told The Tab: “We went to Bill’s for coffee and Chris and his pals were sat in one of the booths. When he was leaving he was kind enough to take a pic with us.

“The picture is a bit blurry because Maddie was shaking. When they left they abandoned half a bottle of wine on the table so we bagged it. Cheers Chris!”

The Grey third year added that although the encounter was brief, Chris was “very lovely” and also took photos with all of the Bill’s staff.

Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel Jackson are also rumoured to be in Durham over the next couple of days whilst filming at the cathedral wraps up.
