Man arrested by taser Police after carrying a four-foot spear through Coventry

He has since been charged with possession of a weapon

A man has been charged after West Midlands Police caught him wielding a four foot blade which has been described as a "spear" by officers on Monday, August 26.

West Midlands Police revealed a picture of the blade on Twitter with the caption "Officers have detained a male in possession of this, what can only be described as a spear!"

"It measures 4 feet in length! The male was arrested by a taser crew and will be interviewed later."

WMP has also stated that Liam Weeks, 34, from Fynford Road, Radford has been charged with possession of a blade in a public area.

He will appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on September 16th.

This incident follows 41 other arrests made against possession of a weapon from January this year within the city.
