One of the new Love Island contestants is a student at Coventry University

Not only that, he’s a local too!

Last night ITV2 revealed the first eleven contestants for the newest season of Love Island, including 23-year-old Niall Aslam, who is a student at Coventry University.

A local lad, Niall splits his time between studying part-time at Cov and being a construction worker.

As one of the six boys to be chosen for Love Island 2018, he will appear on our screens when the series premieres on Monday 4th June.

From a brief stalk of Niall's social media we can already tell that he is a Coventry boy through and through as he calls Kasbah 'Colly'.

Niall describes himself as "quirky and funny" and hopes his "chat" will help him to succeed in the villa, rather than his muscles (even though he's a regular at Future Fitness Coventry).

In terms of his previous relationships, Niall had one long term relationship from the ages of 17 to 20, and then a brief six month fling that ended when he was dumped over WhatsApp.

Niall claims he has entered Love Island in order to, unsurprisingly, find love. He said: "Obviously I’m looking for a fit girl but I’m assuming pretty much all of the girls in there are going to be fit and above my level anyway."

When talking about his type on paper, Niall says he likes girls who are "open and upfront" and "happy and bubbly".

Sadly Niall is set to be in the villa for up to ten weeks, so even if you are his perfect girl you're not going to be bumping into him in Kasbah smokers any time soon.
