Greene King pubs selling pints for six pence today in Bristol

God save the Queen?

Greene King pubs are offering pints for six pence today to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

According to the pub giant, this was the price of a pint when the Queen came to the throne in 1952.

You’re limited to the Greene King IPA, aka that pint you get in spoons when your student loan hasn’t come through. Anything that cheap tastes good though.

Just one location in Bristol will participate in this royal piss up, The Channing Hotel just down the road from the SU.

Marketing director of Greene King Pubs, Andrew Gallagher said, “The Platinum Jubilee is a fantastic way for the UK to come together and celebrate our Queen and country, so we wanted to take our customers back to where it all began – 1952, a time when Vera Lynn ruled the charts and pints were only six pence.”

So for some post-exam inebriation, get your mates down to The Channing Hotel for a tepid ale and a chorus of patriotic karaoke.
