Ben Stokes found NOT guilty of affray outside Bristol nightclub Mbargo

‘It was a fun night’, he told the court

England cricket star Ben Stokes was today found not guilty of committing affray after a fight outside popular student nightclub Mbargo last September.

Ryan Ali, 28 – who was knocked unconscious in the brawl – was also found not guilty of the same charge. Stokes and Ali shook hands on leaving Bristol Crown Court, according to the BBC.

During his trial, Stokes said that alongside "two or three pints" and five or six vodka and lemonades he might have tried Jagerbombs for the first time ever at the Clifton Triangle nightclub, claiming that "it was a fun night".

In September the news that Stokes had visited one of Bristol's most popular student hot spots prompted a deluge of tweets dragging the England sports star for his choice of nightclub.
