A complete list of tweets dragging Ben Stokes for choosing to go to Mbargo Bristol
‘100% one of the worst nightclubs I’ve ever visited’
It's not been a good week for England cricket vice-captain Ben Stokes.
Arrested in Bristol early Monday morning, he was dropped by his country on Thursday shortly before a video surfaced of him impersonating Katie Price's disabled son.
To add salt to the wounds, Twitter users have been ripping the sportsman all week for choosing to go to Bristol's worst club, Mbargo:
The worst thing Ben Stokes has done – in all of this – is go to Mbargo. Proper Student Union vibe, plastic glasses, sticky floors.
— Vithushan (@Vitu_E) September 26, 2017
Of course, the worst of Ben Stokes' alleged crimes is going to Mbargo.

Cricketing fans despaired of his lack of good taste in clubs:
Ben Stokes arrested for assaulting someone at Mbargo lmao, shit taste for a shit cricketer
— föölish bandit (@KYESVT) September 26, 2017
One or two defended his actions:
To be fair to Ben Stokes I've been in Mbargo and a good quarter of the blokes in there are in need of a good decking #freethecliftonone
— Ben Eustice (@BenEustice1) September 28, 2017
Not surprised at Ben Stokes getting in a punch up, Mbargo is regularly full of UoB/student cunts.
— AndyKingAli (@AndyKing2013) September 26, 2017
Others noted his failure to do any research on his choice of clubbing venue…
If Ben Stokes had read scathing reports on line on Mbargo club he would surely have given it a wide berth.
— Tony Harney (@TonyHarney1) September 29, 2017
The Mbargo nightclub in Bristol used to be a rambling second hand bookshop. You wouldn't have caught Ben Stokes having a barney outside that
— Keith Knight (@keithjknight) September 28, 2017
Whilst still more hoped that Stokes at least got to see the other cultural hot spots that Bristol has to offer:
Sunday night at Mbargo used to be the one… one too many Bunker beers for Ben Stokes?
— Matt Pearce (@pearcematt) September 27, 2017
? the scrappy handbags from Ben Stokes outside Mbargo – I like the think he started at spoons & went into lizard at some point @seanAthorne
— Nick Oldfield (@Nick_Oldfield) September 29, 2017
One user even called out the media for their coverage of the story:
There's been an enormous inaccuracy in reporting of Ben Stokes case – primarily referring to Mbargo as 'a nightclub'.
— Charlie Reynolds (@cwjreynolds) September 28, 2017
It remains to be seen whether Stokes- one of England's best cricketing stars- will return to the national squad in time for their bid to retain The Ashes urn against Australia.
