8 reasons why Enigma is going to be the event of the year

With exams ending, here’s your definitive list of why Enigma is the night out you’ve been looking for:

Exams are finally drawing to a close and everyone’s in one of two camps: looking to blow off steam from that 15 hour slog you sat through before your last ever Biochemistry exam, or looking for a spectacular way to end the year.

Join us on the 5th June for ENIGMA, Carnival RAG’s mystery bus tour. On the night, you’ll be herded onto coaches with a crowd of your soon-to-be-tipsy mates and depart for an unknown city for what will be a legendary night out.

The Tab went on Sports Night Enigma and Enigma’s 21st Birthday to find out why Carnival’s slogan is BAD Things, GOOD Causes… and we weren’t disappointed. Such bad things. Many bad things.

Here is your definitive list of the 8 reasons that Enigma is the night out you’ve been looking for:

1. End of exams

As we said, it’s end of exams. You’ve been trapped indoors for over a month. It would be a crime to not exercise your student-held freedom and live up to your reputation of Go Hard or Go Home. Who else is going to, your parents?!

2. Something different

New friends

New cities

Everyone has a night out in Brum close to their heart. But as much as we love the cheesy room in Risa, grabbing a snap with the Stig in STuesdays or wandering like a lost forlorn kitten looking for your friends in Gatecrasher, uni is about experiencing new things. There’s nothing quite like setting out with your friends into the unknown for what could be a life-changing experience.

3. Bus journeys

And what better way to start out on your newest adventure than to board one of the 8 buses headed into the unknown surrounded by your friends, drinks in hand and 50 new people to get into all sorts of trouble with?

4. Bus games

I have never woken up next to a stranger. Drink. I have never downed a dirty pint. Drink. Are you wearing black underwear? Drink. Does your name begin with S? Drink. Are you currently on Enigma? DRINK. Speed dating, Take Me Out (using the little lights above your seats), Bus Twister (right hand window, left foot the luggage rack, right foot the person’s head in front of you… you get the picture), Pass the Orange (where both sides of the bus race to pass an orange from person to person not using hands, the losing side seeing off their drinks). You will spend the entire journey partaking in the best pre-drinks ever conceived as you get to know the person across the aisle from you far more intimately than you expected.

5. New cities

As if we hadn’t mentioned, did you know that Enigma will take you to a completely random unknown city for an epic night out? Yes. You could end up in Leeds, Liverpool, Swansea, Sheffield … the possibilities are endless. Enigma’s 21st Birthday even ended up going to Leicester for pre-bars and then a second leg of bus journey landed us in Nottingham. Mental!

6. A sea of Enigma

Assuming you make it through the pre-bars and bluff your drunken way past the bouncers into the end venue, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a sea of people wearing the exact same shirt as you – you can’t get lost when you’re caught up with 500 others all singing along at the end of the night.

7. Seen safely home

With Carnival’s dedicated team leading your night, from bus games to getting you safely across roads as you stagger from one pre-bar to the next, you don’t have to worry about a thing – Carnival got you here, and Carnival will get you back safely to UoB.

8. All proceeds go to charity

And finally, to pull on the heartstrings for a second, every penny raised from this event goes to Carnival’s 6 selected charities – that’s literally thousands of pounds raised for incredible causes, and all you have to do is board a bus with 500 others clutching your bottles and cans.

But hurry, early bird tickets are cheaper and sell out very quickly! Make sure you log on HERE at 7pm sharp this evening (Saturday 24th May) ready to secure your place on the wildest ride of your life.
