Horsing around for charity

UoB Equestrian Club strip off to raise funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Naked calendars always cause a bit of a stir, such as the Warwick Rowers calendar, which rubbed a few people up the wrong way. Is it an inappropriate way to raise money for charity? Nope, well not for Rag, and not for the UoB Equestrian society.

Ready to get their kit off

The Equestrian Club have decided to keep up their tradition of making naked calendars and will be raising money for the Midlands Air Ambulance this year. One member of the club commented “it’s a really fantastic charity and a vital service, run entirely on donations.

“The three air ambulances the charity operates respond to at least 3,000 missions a year all around Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands area.”

Steamy shots in the stables

The club describe making the calendar as “fun and a great bonding opportunity for members.” They have been selling hundreds of copies of their naked calendars for six years now.

One members said “we can’t wait to see the Carnival Rag calendar! It’s going to look great, but ours has horses, and we got chilly for charity.”

This year the photographers were Michael Jevon and The Tab’s Charlotte Wilson.

Calendars are sold at £5. See UBSport Equestrian Club on Facebook or follow @UoBEquestrian on Twitter for purchase details.
