Scooter Braun celebs

A brief history of all the famous faces who have ditched Scooter Braun over the years

Reports have emerged that Demi Lovato split from Scooter’s management last month

Scooter Braun has been making headlines following reports that two of his top talents, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande, have parted ways from his management.

Scooter is arguably one of the most famous talent managers in the music industry, following his big break in 2008 when he first discovered Justin Bieber. Rumours have been circulating online that Justin and Scooter have parted ways, but they have since been denied.

The talent manager previously made headlines several years ago when he purchased big Machine Records and became the owner of Taylor Swift’s master recordings, which led to her re-recording all of her old albums.

Over the years, Scooter Braun has worked with some major celebs in the music industry but are now no longer represented by him. Here’s a look back at all the celebs who have ditched Scooter Braun over the years.

Ariana Grande

In a shock to many, it was reported that Ariana Grande had split from Scooter Braun, according to Billboard sources. Scooter and Ariana have worked together since 2013, the year she released her debut album, Yours Truly.

While it isn’t clear whether Ariana is cutting all business ties with Scooter, both of their representatives have declined to comment on the news.

Since reports emerged about Ariana Grande’s exit from Scooter Braun’s management, it has reportedly been denied by sources close to Scooter, according to Variety.

“Grande’s exit was strenuously denied by sources close to Braun while a rep for the singer did not respond to Variety’s requests for comment.”

Demi Lovato

On the same day as the Ariana Grande news, it was reported that Demi Lovato is seeking new management after splitting with Scooter Braun last month.

Demi signed with Scooter and his SB Projects firm in 2019. According to sources close to the situation, it was time for Demi to go in a new direction. The singer does no yet have new management but conversations are said to be taking place.

Usher

It was reported in 2016 that Usher was signed to Scooter’s management company but it now appears they are no longer working together as he is not on the current roster of clients on SB Projects’ website.

However it isn’t actually clear if Usher has left SB Projects, after previously saying he has “always been in the Scooter family”.

Todrick Hall

Todrick Hall confirmed he had left Scooter Braun’s management company after he bought Taylor Swift’s masters in 2019.

Kanye West

In 2018, Kanye West announced he was no longer working with Scooter Braun after saying he “can’t be managed”.

In  a tweet, Kanye wrote: “I no longer have a manager. I can’t be managed. I am nobody’s client.” Fair enough.

Zac Brown Band

American country music band, Zac Brown Band, signed with Scooter in March 2018, but it appears they are no longer working together as the band is not on the current roster of clients on SB Projects’ website.

Martin Garrix

DJ Martin Garrix signed with Scooter in 2018. However similarly to Zac Brown Band, he is no longer on the current roster of clients on SB Projects’ website.

CL

K-Pop star CL signed with Scooter back in 2014, but nine years later in 2023, he confirmed he is no longer managing her.
