That viral Korean clip involving straws and n*pples gets even weirder with full filthy context

Well, that took a controversial turn

Right now, my Twitter is PLAGUED by videos of Korean men doing lap dances and sucking on each other’s nipples through straws; what the hell is going on?

I shouldn’t be that surprised. Between the NSFW match trend and *that* lawyer who was crucified for cheating on his wife, the internet is an exceedingly odd place.

Guess we’ve got another stamp on our “why am I even on the internet” checklist.

First off, what’s going viral?

As is the case with most viral moments on Twitter, people are just sharing a specific clip without the wider context.

In the video, one man is lifting his T-shirt as two others seemingly suck his nipples through straws? The exact purpose was initially lost on me; Is it a s*x thing? A trend in South Korea that I’m unaware of? No one had many answers beyond, “this guy is fit.”

Reacting, one person said: “I don’t even know what to say, bro.”

“Ok but srsly what is happening in this vid,” another said, as someone else added, “Oh what video is this I’m crying.”

There are other clips from the moment also doing the rounds, and in one, the same guy is thrusting on the floor. In another, there’s a rather racy lap dance.

There are more questions than answers over on Twitter, so I did some digging.

The video is from the Lineup Company

As it turns out, the viral videos are from an online show from the Lineup Company in South Korea.

It’s part of this genre called Excel Broadcasting, which sees influencers and content creators battle it out for donations on a livestream. The contestants are ranked in real time based on the number of donations they’ve had, so they pretty much do anything the fans ask for – including x-rated things, it seems.

Specifically, these clips were from a recent show with the influencer Choi Hyeok-geun (Beddy), who has 10 million followers on TikTok.

It’s very Hunger Games coded, I must say. Maybe that’s what the UK is missing.
