Oliver Tree’s final will has been revealed, including handwritten instructions to his family

Details of a will left by Oliver Tree have been revealed in court documents. The singer passed away after a mid-air helicopter collision in Brazil, on June 14th. Six people, including Oliver Tree, lost their lives. They included four passengers, and two pilots.

Following his death, an interview Oliver Tree did with the Zach Sang Show resurfaced. In the interview, he spoke of his estate and earnings, and what would happen after he died.

He described being “screwed” by the music industry, and said he was barely making any money. However, the singer reflected on being rich in memories from his career.

He later explained that he didn’t think he owned much of his wealth, and wanted to donate anything back to artists. “I don’t believe that any of the wealth or the things that get made from it is mine. So when I die — I’ve set it up — my will is set up that when I pass, my family, no one’s going to get a penny,” he said.

Now, court documents obtained by TMZ have shared more about the will Oliver Tree left behind. He instructed his family not to sell on any of his art pieces, and had planned to leave handwritten instructions of how to distribute his assets.

His father Jesse Nickell III, asked the court to appoint him as the administrator of his late son’s trust. His dad has said he is unsure how much the estate is worth as of yet. The assets left behind include his bank accounts, all rights to his music, interest in his various companies, clothing and jewellery.

As per the documents, his art collection was also included. This includes his “iconic wardrobe, the world’s biggest scooter, the bull quad, all music props/installations, touring props and gear, video storyboards, concept art, fashion designs, runway looks, paintings and illustrations, podcast props etc.”

What’s not clear, is if Oliver ever did make the handwritten plans. If not, the decision is left to the administrator as to what is done with the remaining assets. However, what was made clear is Oliver’s wish to have his art collection kept in a museum, either an existing one, or a new one to be set up. He stated: “These may be used to create an ‘Oliver Tree Museum’ if economically feasible.”

Olivier also previously expressed a wish for any of his wealth to be donated back to artists. In a previous statement shared by his family, they went on to confirm they are carrying out his final wish.

They said: “His legacy will live on through his foundation/endowment named ‘Dr. Oliver Tree’s Extremely Epic Grant For Baby Geniuses’ coming soon. This is something that Oliver had put together before his passing, written in his will. We will make sure his wish comes to fruition so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world, that was his final wish.”

The foundation was set up in the weeks following his death.
