The Tab is hiring an Assistant Editor to join our HQ
We’re looking for an ambitious grad for our two-year programme – applications open now
We’re hiring an Assistant Editor to join The Tab’s head office as part of our graduate programme. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join one of the most influential youth media companies in the UK.
We’re looking for a passionate and energetic grad to fill our two-year Assistant Editor role, where you’ll work with students to break campus news stories.
Over the two-year trainee programme, you’ll receive training in entertainment and trends writing, news and features, SEO, investigations, editing, commissioning, data and FOIs, social media management, video, and more. There’ll also be an opportunity to embark on one-week rotations across different areas of the editorial team. You’ll be paired with a mentor and receive feedback, as well as monthly progression meetings throughout.
Assistant Editors have one of the most varied and rewarding jobs in journalism. It is a role for ambitious journalists who work hard, are capable of building brilliant working relationships with writers, and who care about original stories. You should be a self-starter, excited to dive into a career in journalism.
The Tab is a global entertainment brand focusing on Gen-Z and youth culture with seven million readers a month. We cover everything from MAFS to politics and live news from the perspective of young people.
You’ll join a team of 13 ambitious journalists (and counting). It’s an exciting time to join, too; we’ve grown our readership massively in the last year, and we’re expanding quickly.
This role is open to grads who’ve finished their degree within the last two years. This role is remote, but you must be willing to commute to London at least twice a month for team days.
