Hannah is ‘relieved’ MAFS didn’t match her with Paul and brutally spills what he’s actually like
‘Being matched with him would’ve been concerning’
Following their disastrous back up date on MAFS Australia 2025, Hannah has said she is “relieved” she wasn’t matched by the experts to marry Paul. Ouch.
Paul made the pretty awful decision to go on a date with Hannah, who was revealed as the second choice in bride for him, when the experts were doing the matchmaking process. His actual bride Carina didn’t go on her date, and instead spent the final test challenge cleaning their flat. His choice to go on a date with someone else out of “curiosity” when down terribly with Carina, and she chucked him out.
Wind back to the date Paul went on – and let’s be honest, it definitely wasn’t worth it. He and Hannah went to a bar, and she understandably assumed that because he was there, things with him and Carina weren’t going well. When he said they in fact were, Hannah questioned why he was even there. Honestly Hannah, same. From then onwards, it was *very* awkward.
Now speaking after the show, Hannah has said she’d glad she was the back up bride, and nothing more. She said she’s seen Paul’s behaviour in the experiment, and is “relieved” they didn’t get married. She’s probably talking about when Paul got so angry in one argument, he punched a hole in the wall of the apartment he shared with Carina.

“After seeing how everything unfolded with Paul and Carina, I just feel relieved,” Hannah spilled to PEDESTRIAN.TV. “At the time of our date, I didn’t know what was going on behind the scenes, but watching it back now, I can see that being matched with him would’ve been concerning.
“Some of the conversations he had, the way he spoke to her. That’s not something I’d want within a relationship. I want a connection where I feel safe and heard, I know now that would have been hard with Paul. So I’m happy it has turned out the way it has.”
Hannah added she thought Paul was good looking, but that was where the compliments ended. She continued: “My initial impression was that he was a man who took great pride in his appearance.
“The moment I sat down, my guard immediately went up. Without hesitation, I asked what had brought him here today and what had led to complications in his current relationship. [I was] unaware at the time that he was, in fact, ‘happily married.’”
