Beth spills all about ‘arrogant’ back up MAFS date and it’s nothing like what we saw on the show
‘If he was my actual match, I would have left the experiment on day one’
The messiest task in MAFS Australia history has just kicked off. Ahead of the final vows, it’s final test week. The brides and grooms have been given the option to go on a date with someone the experts thought was compatible with them, but ultimately didn’t make the cut. One MAFS Australia 2025 bride who took up the option to go on a date with her back up groom was Beth.
Things have been shaky between Beth and her groom Teejay recently. He’s been giving her mixed signals about their emotional connection, and then he said leave at the last commitment ceremony. She said stay, so they carried on. But given their rocky patch, they both opted to meet the second choice match.
Beth went on a date with Oisin Scully. Irish Oisin was confident, albeit a bit cocky, and seemed to get on with Beth well. But in the end, she didn’t seem overly wowed by him. Still, they appeared to hit it off a bit on their date.
However, speaking since the show, Beth has branded her MAFS back up groom a “f*ck boy” and said the date was actually very different in real life.

“I actually acted like I was having a good time because in all honesty, I felt so uncomfortable being there and all I kept thinking about was Teejay,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle. “Every time me and Oisin would laugh about something, all I kept thinking was that my banter with Oisin was nowhere near as good as mine with Teejay.

“I tried to put on a brave face and just pretend, tried to convince myself almost that I was having a good time, but I really wasn’t.”
Shen then described Oisin as a “f*ck boy” and “arrogant”. Beth added: “If he was my actual match, I would have left the experiment on day one I think. He was so arrogant and so into himself. He kept licking his lips to flirt with me and I was like, can you put your tongue back in your mouth? It’s not sexy.
“He had his buttons undone on his shirt and I was like, you’re just a f*ck boy and that doesn’t work for me. I was not into him. I think I just pretended I was because I just wanted to convince myself I wasn’t missing Teejay when I really was.”
She added she has “no idea” why the experts might have matched her with him. “Maybe it’s just because he’s Irish and I’m British and they thought we’d bond over that, I don’t f*cking know,” she said. “But honestly, he needs to be on FBoy Island or something like that. He is not down for marriage, let me tell you right now.” Ouch!
