People have claimed Jeff and Rhi’s MAFS marriage is fake, and now she has responded

People watching MAFS Australia season 12 have long suspected that Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels’ marriage was staged for the purpose of the show, and now she has responded.

In the first few weeks of this season, we were shocked to learn how multiple MAFS couples already knew each other before walking down the aisle. Not only had Paul Antoine and Carina Mirabile dated before their nuptials, but Jeff and Rhi had also been seeing one another for around a month in 2023. Soon enough, people questioned just how real their “first” meeting really was.

“The fact that they know each other prior to this, it’s so obvious this is producers working overtime,” one viewer wrote, as another said, “The experts had no idea two couples knew each other? Okay.”

We are now fast approaching the finale and the explosive double reunion, and while Paul and Carina are basically over after his wall punching scandal, Jeff and Rhi are still going strong. So, let’s put this nasty rumour to bed once and for all!

Was Jeff and Rhi’s MAFS marriage staged?

Jeff and Rhi only dated for a month back in 2023, a full year before MAFS Australia season 12 started filming, and yet, people have continued to poke holes in their relationship. Tahnee Cook, a bride from the 2023 instalment, also claimed, “I know producers stalk. They would’ve seen that [they follow each other]. There’s no way producers do not know.”

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle at the start of March, Rhi trashed the rumours while questioning why it would even matter.

“Jeff and I followed each other on Instagram, but I don’t know if they went in and had a look to see if we followed each other,” she said.

“Going off the looks of all the producers’ faces, it looked like no one had any freaking idea. I could hear everyone go, ‘What the f**k?’. I think the producers were quite shocked as well, to be honest.”

While MAFS hopefuls are asked to disclose their dating history before going on the show, Rhi never listed Jeff as one of her exes.

“To be honest, I didn’t even mention who my actual ex was, like my long-term relationship,” she added. “I saw people comment saying, ‘You had to put their Instagram accounts in, how did they not know?’. But I never even said the name of my ex,” she added. “I can see how it could have happened, especially knowing that Jeff and I had no photos together and it was only a month. I definitely said nothing to them about Jeff at all.”

Well, that settles that then. Can we not poke holes in the only stable MAFS relationship, please?
