MAFS Australia groom Paul slams the edit for making him seem too ‘French and horny’
He claims many key moments were cut from the show
The MAFS Australia 2025 groom Paul Antoine has rather a lot of opinions on his edit. He claims the producers cut certain scenes to make him come across in a particular way.
Paul criticised his edit on MAFS in an interview with Daily Mail Australia. He said: “The only thing people know about me is that I’m French and horny. That’s the meme that went around — and honestly, it’s kind of true based on what they aired.”
Paul complained the MAFS Australia producers edited out the deep and meaningful conversations he had, so he seemed much shallower. “They didn’t show me opening up about my grandpa,” he said, “They didn’t show the beautiful conversations with my groomsmen. They didn’t show my confession letter where I spoke about my heartbreaks and my hopes.
“It felt like they didn’t want people to like me.”

MAFS Australia producers have previously denied the many accusations that they give contestants “good” or “bad” edits. Alex Spurway told the Daily Mail Australia: “If you come in and you have certain beliefs, or you’re not happy with something and then you watch it back, you need to be thinking about what beliefs you hold, what values you hold, or your behaviour – before you come for the edit.”
Paul did also thank the MAFS Australia team for encouraging to start therapy. He still sees the same therapist. Paul said: “It saved me. I was struggling to forgive myself. That therapist helped me find peace.”
