Erica from MAFS UK and Meryl from The Traitors have dramatically fallen out and it’s messy

The MAFS UK bride Erica Roberts and Meryl Williams (who won the first season of The Traitors) were very publicly besties. The duo documented all their nights out and weekend trips together in extensive details on social media. Their friendship was such a crossover moment for UK reality TV nerds. Erica and Meryl even had a podcast together called You & Me (in which they talked about their themselves and occasionally interviewed other MAFS contestants).

But now their friendship has crashed and burned, and the whole thing is deeply mysterious. Podcast listeners noticed Erica and Meryl hadn’t uploaded a new episode since 18th March, although the show was usually updated once a week. A listener asked Erica about this, since several fans were paying for bonus content on Patreon and hadn’t got any.

Erica made a TikTok video responding to this. She said: “I’m going to address this, purely for the sake of the podcast. There’s a lot that’s happened, there’s a lot that’s gone on. I don’t want to speak bad on anyone so I’m not going to go into that.

“But I just want to let you guys know that there is currently no longer a podcast. I’m sorry that we haven’t addressed it sooner. I don’t think either of us know how to navigate the situation. ‘On behalf of me, I’m so sorry that it’s taking this long. We were both kind of unsure about what as happening and if there was still going to be a podcast but now we’re pretty definitely sure that there isn’t going to be a podcast anymore.”

She added: “If there’s no friendship, there’s no podcast.”

Erica blamed the Patreon problems on Meryl, and told disgruntled subscribers to message her instead.

She continued: “Unfortunately, like I said, a lot has happened and things just haven’t worked out and she’s moving to London and I truly wish her the best, she will smash it down there. I’m sorry we haven’t addressed it sooner, we both kind of didn’t know what was going on.”

Erica said she was “gutted” the friendship and podcast were over. She said: “I never thought this would happen.”

Meryl and Erica seemed to be super close friends only a matter of weeks ago. On 23rd March, Meryl posted a lengthy video montage of their friendship in honour of Erica’s 26th birthday.

So maybe something happened between then and when the next podcast episode was due on 25th March? It’s all very mysterious and I’m desperate to know.

Since Erica posted the tea-spilling TikTok, the Patreon page for the podcast has  been taken down.
