Ouch! Clint’s MAFS audition tape proves Lauren is the worst possible match for him
‘She gave me this sob story that she couldn’t pay her rent’
People have always questioned how the MAFS experts put people together, and after seeing what Clint Rice said in his audition tape, I’m more convinced than ever that the Australian experts simply throw darts at a board.
Season 12 of Married at First Sight Australia has been a trainwreck. Almost every single couple has weathered their fair share of storms, and while this would usually make couples stronger, our season 12 cast has buckled under the pressure. We’ve seen Billy and Sierah’s relationship flatline following a cheating scandal, poor Katie getting her heart broken by Tim, and Eliot making his way through just about every bride in Australia. It’s a mess, but mistakes do happen – hence why Eliot and Lauren got second chances with another wedding.
Lauren and Clint were matched halfway through the season, and almost immediately, they seemed at odds with one another. They just didn’t gel, and Clint’s audition tape might point to the reason.
Clint said he hates gold diggers in his MAFS audition tape
Reality TV audition tapes have a habit of coming back to bite the participant in the bottom. We saw this just recently with Ryan Donnelly, who confessed to his issues with “Modern women in Sydney.” It’s Clint’s turn this week because, in his audition tape, he basically described Lauren Hall when discussing which women he does NOT want in a relationship.
In the tape, he claimed that his money is often a deal breaker for relationships because some women “latch on” as soon as “they know I’ve got a Porsche, I’ve got a house, I sold my company for several million.”
“It’s challenging,” Clint said.

Recalling one specific encounter with a “nice girl” he met at a golf tournament, Clint explained how, after just a few dates, she asked him to pay for her rent that month.
“Would you believe after three dates, she gave me this sob story that she couldn’t pay her rent and asked if I could pay her rent!” he said.

Meanwhile, Lauren’s audition tape genuinely sounded like Clint’s nightmare, which naturally leads me to question why the experts matched them together in the first place.
“They would need to have a house or a couple of properties. They have to be able to afford to go to Europe,’ Lauren said. “If I was matched with someone who wasn’t successful, I would probably hate them.”
Obviously, Clint has now moved on with Jacqui Burfoot, who is definitely not materialistic at all…
