Oh god, MAFS’ Jacqui and Clint have responded to the claim their proposal was a fake PR stunt
Whatever you say Jacqui, whatever you say
After their marriages combusted on MAFS Australia, Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice got engaged at a viewing party for the reunion. Their cast mates were taken aback by the news, and Jacqui’s ex Ryan Donnelly even offered a sarcastic congratulations. Clint’s ex-wife, Lauren Hall, has yet to speak out. But amidst genuine best wishes and demands for them to televise their wedding, Jacqui and Clint have been forced to contend with rumours that it was a faked proposal for clout.
On his Instagram account, body language expert Scott Taylor said: “There’s a reason things look and feel unnatural when you’re watching their behaviours – even the hug after the proposal is unnatural.
“It’s because it’s staged. Human connection, when it’s natural, shows and shows as being natural. You’re not seeing the open, non-verbals, you’re not seeing those items.”
Scott’s not the only person who smelled something fishy, with season 12 cast member Awhina Rutene suggesting Clint would “settle” for anyone because he is so “desperate” for love.
“I will be 100 per cent real with you guys; it’s not real on Jacqui’s end,” she recently said. “You know, we’ve seen Jacqui’s behaviour during the experiment. For someone who is madly in love, she’s got time to post 22 TikToks.”
Well, now the happy couple has responded, and Jacqui’s delusion might be leaking because Clint’s statement is almost on par with hers when it comes to sheer ridiculousness.
MAFS’ Clint and Jacqui respond to proposal rumours
@pedestriantv “It’s jealousy.” 👀👀 #mafs #marriedatfirstsight #jacqui #jacquimafs #clint #clintmafs
Jacqui Burfoot has never been afraid to clap back at the haters, having earlier issued a restraining order against her former husband Ryan. Clint also has a big mouth, something we’ve already seen on MAFS Australia.

Speaking to Pedestrian TV, Jacqui said the rumours are the “funniest thing” as she claimed that haters are simply jealous of their unrivaled love.
“I saw the funniest thing. Some self-claimed expert being like, ‘body language says that this is fake.’ I was like, literally, we could be pregnant, and you’d still say the same thing. Like it’s jealousy,” she shared.
“You don’t move states, you don’t move halfway across the country for a fake relationship.”
Clint also noticed how people in happy relationships are generally the happiest for them. In contrast, he said those shedding negativity on them are simply bitter bettys.
He explained: “Funny thing is, it’s often the people that are saying that they haven’t found love, and the people that are in love are actually really supportive.
“So there’s a correlation between people that are happy and happy for us, and then people that maybe aren’t that happy that want to shed that negative light on us.”
I definitely believe you, Jacqui and Clint, in the same way I believe Jacqui’s 45 jobs and accolades.
