Body language expert reveals if Clint and Jacqui’s post-MAFS proposal was real or staged
‘There’s a reason things look and feel unnatural’
MAFS Australia stars Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot are now engaged, but a body language expert has said everything is not quite as it seems. We should have guessed, it is Jacqui we’re talking about.
This week, the MAFS Australia stars stepped out for a glitzy night of drama and chaos at various reunion viewing parties. Though some attended the Daily Mail’s in Australia, Jacqui Burfoot, Clint Rice, Billy Belcher, and Dave Hand all attended So Dramatic’s. It was here that Clint and Jacqui revealed their engagement despite being married to Lauren Hall and Ryan Donnelly on the show.
“OMG!!!! Clint just proposed to Jacqui at our MAFS Reunion Party in Sydney, and she said YES!!!” So Dramatic revealed in a post. “Clint got down on one knee during our Q&A and popped the question with a stunning custom-made 5.08ct oval diamond solitaire ring set in platinum and 18ct yellow gold from @simoncurwoodjewellers.”
Nonetheless, people have called out the engagement by calling it fake and a desperate attempt at clout.
“This must be a wind up. Surely. Clint, blink twice if you need help,” one person said, while another wrote, “See how long that lasts that’s if it’s even a real thing. Doubtful.”
Body language expert Scott Taylor has now offered his two cents, and it’s not looking good, folks.
MAFS’ Jacqui and Clint are now engaged, but was it staged?

Combined communications specialist Scott Taylor has been offering his juiciest MAFS takeaways for weeks through his Instagram page. In a recently uploaded clip, he addressed moments from the reunions and also the viewing parties that took place. He said that, in his professional opinion, Jacqui and Clint’s engagement appeared as a desperate “publicity stunt”, but he was surprised at the lengths they went to for clout.
“There’s a reason things look and feel unnatural when you’re watching their behaviours – even the hug after the proposal is unnatural,” he explained. “It’s because it’s staged. Human connection, when it’s natural, shows and shows as being natural. You’re not seeing the open, non-verbals, you’re not seeing those items.”
Scott also noted how Jacqui and Clint tagged the jeweller who provided their rings, Simon Curwood Jewellers, suggesting it was a sponsored event.
Though he did note that both Jacqui and Clint “deserve happiness”, Scott Taylor estimated that we’re set to see “ten to twelve weeks of social media madness” as the controversial couple pretend they’re engaged.
And with that, we commence the most desperate 15 minutes of fame you’ve ever seen.
