MAFS Australia groom Ryan’s savage response to Clint and Jacqui’s shock engagement

Breaking news: The MAFS Australia contestants Clint Rice and Jaqui Burfoot are engaged. The big moment happened at the So Dramatic! podcast’s MAFS reunion viewing party, which fans bought tickets to. The ring is from a jewellery company that sponsored the event.

While Jacqui, Clint, Billy and Dave were at this event, most of the other MAFS Australia cast were together at a different viewing party. We have actual video footage of Ryan finding out about Clint and Jacqui’s engagement. His response is, erm, interesting.

Ryan gushed, “I am ecstatic. I am over the moon. True love prevails, baby!”

I’m sensing some sarcasm.

The host of the MAFS Funny podcast led Ryan into the toilets and suggested her video call Clint to congratulate him. Ryan said “The Kia’s calling the Ferrari”. This is a reference to when Clint said in the MAFS Australia reunion, “Jacqui’s gone from a Kia to a Ferrari”.

Funnily enough, Clint did not pick up. Ryan said: “He’s not answering my call. Why won’t you answer my call, because I’m so happy for you, brother! I’m going to be the celebrant, right, and I’m going to tell him, brother, it’s okay to go grey, alright? It’s okay to not get botox in your lips and drive a Kia. It’s all good, brother!”

He continued: “Clint, sorry brother, you must have a f*cking missile hanging down below because you took the bullets for me. Keep her in Tazzy [Tasmania, where Jacqui lives with Clint] off the mainland, alright? You’re doing Australia a favour.”

Later on, Ryan told the former groom Al Perkins for the MAFS Funny podcast that he thought Jacqui and Clint’s engagement was “so subtle, so candid”.

Al asked Ryan if he thought the engagement was “legit”. Ryan responded: “Oh, it’s got to be. I mean, they’ve told nothing but the truth the entire time. Like, they’ve been so honest.

“I’m not going to stand in the way of anybody’s happiness, no matter how cooked it is, no matter how fried it is, no matter how publicity-hungry it is. I’m happy if they’re happy, baby. Let’s keep rolling, man!”

Ryan then went on for another minute or so about how he thinks Jacqui had an “agenda” on the show.

Jacqui then slammed Ryan’s response to her engagement. She said on the Australian radio show Fev & Nick: “Ryan doesn’t take anything I do well. Like, nothing I do is good enough for him. Whether it’s, ‘Oh, she’s not in love, it’s fake’… he’s always got something negative to say. He can’t just move on. He will be like, ‘Oh, she’s cheating’ and next minute, ‘It’s fake, a publicity stunt’. Move on mate! You dumped me, too.”

Jacqui has been granted an interim restraining order against Ryan. She also started a police investigation into Ryan sharing “sensitive, private and sexual” images of her. Ryan has filed a apprehended violence order (AVO) against Jacqui, and is set to appear in court on 23rd April.
