The Mount Rushmore of male celebrity s*x tapes: The famous lads whose vids still go viral
The world of adult films is bigger than Ray J and Kim K
Celebrity s*x tapes have been a familiar presence on the internet for years, but even before that, private moments from the world’s most famous people were available on tape. Technology has changed, but morals have not.
To this day, these s*x tapes still make their way onto the internet every few months. I believe it’s the circle of life Simba was singing about in The Lion King.
Here are the most famous.
Ray J

Though this list is strictly for the male gender, you can’t talk about celebrity s*x tapes without at least referencing perhaps the most famous of the bunch: Ray J and Kim Kardashian.
The home video, which was filmed while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in 2003, showed both of their faces very clearly. The raw material was a whopping 94 minutes, but the film was purchased and released by Vivid Entertainment for the sum of $1.4 million in 2007.
It’s widely credited to be the catalyst for Kim Kardashian’s career, which is why there are so many conspiracy theories about Kim and Kris Jenner releasing it on purpose. Ray J claimed as much this year, which the Kardashians refuted with a lawsuit.
I would say most people are over it, but they’re clearly not. Online, merely searching their names is enough to provide the receipts.
Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell had a reputation for being a lady’s man, and the s*x tape with Playboy Bunny Nicole Narain certainly helped. It came out in 2005, and though lawsuits were launched as a result, Colin seems to have moved past it.
“At the end of the deposition… the man in charge said, ‘I hope you’ve learned your lesson, Mr. Farrell,’ and I said, ‘Absolutely, next time I’ll take the tape with me,'” he said in 2008, after settling the lawsuit against his ex.
Hulk Hogan

In 2006, Hulk Hogan was videotaped having intercourse with Heather Clem, the wife of radio host Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. Bubba was the one who recorded it without the wrestler’s knowledge, and in 2012, the website Gawker posted edited clips of it.
It sparked a million-dollar lawsuit aimed at the gossip site, with Hulk Hogan ultimately awarded $140 million in damages. He later settled with Gawker for the sum of $31 million, and the website filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy three months later.
Kris Humphries

Though this will be the second time that Kim Kardashian makes an apperence in this list, she wasn’t involved in the s*x tape with ex-husband Kris Humphries. Instead, the professional basketball player’s tape was with his then-fling Myla Sinanaj. Awkwardly, she was called a dupe for Kim because of their similar looks.
“I may not like Kim, but she was smart and she’s sexy and I look a lot like her so why not make a tape and make millions and get a reality show?” Myla said in response.
Nikko London

In 2014, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars were seen in a p*rn film entitled Scandal in Atlanta. The video, featuring stars Nikko London and Mimi Faust, quickly became the most popular video on Vivid Entertainment’s platform. It was even nominated for an AVN Award.
According to the reality TV stars, their tape was leaked after they lost their luggage at the aiport.
Rob Lowe

Though Kim and Ray J are undoubtedly the most famous example, Rob Lowe’s s*x tape is definitely the most controversial – it almost ended his career.
Back in 1998, when Rob was 24, he filmed a s*x tape with a 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old. Though it was technically legal, as the age of consent in Atlanta was 14 at the time, you had to be 18 to be involved in an adult film.
The actor was never arrested, but that was because he reached a plea deal to avoid lawsuits and criminal charges. He was ordered to do 20 hours of community service and avoid legal trouble for two years, but his career did suffer for a while.
Fast-forwarding a little, it’s now a joke that we’ve seen time and time again on celebrity roasts and SNL.
Gene Simmons

In 2008, ageing rocker Gene Simmons had his s*x tape leaked on the internet, which featured a blonde woman described as an Austrian energy drink rep. Random, I know.
The video itself was ridiculously grainy, but Gene Simmons claimed it was filmed without his consent. He set out on a legal fight against the websites that were selling it.
Nelly

Unlike other celebs on this list who had their private videos stolen, leaked, or hacked, Nelly accidentally posted his own.
It came in 2022, when Nelly posted a video of him receiving oral s*x to his Instagram stories. It was quickly removed, but not before it spread to the rest of the internet.
He later apologised for the mistake.
Pamela Anderson’s boyfriends

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s multiple s*x tapes were some of the most famous in the late ’90s, and they were spliced together and sold as a full film. Though she initially sued those spreading the video, she later dismissed the lawsuit over fears the stress would negatively impact her pregnancy.
Unfortunately, it happened again, this time with Bret Michaels. They’d dated in the late ’90s and filmed some home videos that were later leaked by the same company that did the one with Tommy Lee. Again, the couple sued, and though they initially got it taken down, the film was later released on DVD.
