Maya Jama only follows 13 girls from Love Island in total and it’s so ruthless

Only 13 girls from every single series?!

Everyone’s always intrigued to know who Maya Jama follows after each series of Love Island, proving who her favourites really are, but did you know she only follows 13 girls in total?

Yep, out of an estimated 223 women who have been on the show over the last 11 years, Maya only follows a *very* select group of 12 girlies.

She only started hosting the show in 2023, but Maya has come into contact with all kinds of Islanders before that on All Stars, Aftersun and various events and parties.

So, that decision to only follow 12 actually says a lot about who her real favourites are. Here are all the Love Island girlies she follows, in order of their season.

The 13 Love Island girls Maya Jama follows on Instagram

  • Olivia Attwood – season 3
  • Montana Brown – season 3
  • Amy Hart – season 5
  • Molly-Mae Hague – season 5
  • Maura Higgins – season 5
  • Indiyah Pollack – season 8
  • Samie Elishi – season 9
  • Jess Harding – season 10
  • Ella Thomas – season 10
  • Whitney Adebayo – season 10
  • Yasmin Pettet – season 12
  • Shakira Khan – season 12
  • Toni Laites – season 12

A few of the girls Maya follows have worked on Love Island, either on Aftersun or the podcast, so that’s understandable, including Amy, Indiyah, Toni, Yasmin and Shakira. Interestingly, Maya actually followed the big three way before they were announced for The Debrief, though. It was literally a few weeks after the show ended last year!

As people speculated about when and why she followed them, Maya brutally replied to a TikTok comment: “No I followed them yesterday.. after the show was finished & last time I checked I had free will to follow whoever I like lol.”

Some of the others are Love Island’s biggest ever stars, like Molly-Mae, Maura and Olivia Attwood. I mean, who doesn’t follow them?! But others feel a bit more random, like Montana, Samie, Jess and Ella. Are they just her favourite girlies? Honestly, it seems very targeted.

So far, the Love Island host hasn’t followed anyone from the 2026 series, which also feels like an interesting move. People are convinced her favs this year were Simba and Angelista after she posted them on her grid, but no follow as of yet.
