Dad shares harrowing final conversations with ex before she fatally poisoned their four kids

She murdered them with help from the grandmother in New York

The father of four children who were killed by their mother and grandmother in New York has spoken out and shared his final messages with his ex.

Six people were found dead inside a home in Mechanicville on 23rd June in a murder-suicide, including Amy Steadman, 64, her daughter Sarah Myers, 44, and Myers’ four children, Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, Gavin Harmon, 10 and Gracelynn Harmon, 10. Police believe they were killed 13 days earlier, and the bodies were found in Steadman’s house after a neighbour reported a foul smell.

Three of the children had been fatally poisoned, while 10-year-old Gavin had been stabbed, just days before they were due to stay with their father, Brady Harmon, in Utah for the summer. It was going to be the first time he had seen them since 2019, as he had been locked in a custody battle with his ex.

This week, Mechanicville police chief William Rabbitt confirmed that the two women “conspired in carrying out the murders of the four children before taking their own lives” at a press conference. Authorities shared text messages that show Myers and Steadman “communicating and coordinating” the murders.

Following the new update, Brady shared a heartbreaking Facebook post, writing: “I am still gutted by the information released today regarding the horrific actions taken against my children. I will not use the names of the people responsible anywhere near the names of Harper, Hudson, Gavin, and Gracelynn Harmon. My children deserve to be remembered for who they were—not forever tied to those who took their lives.”

“According to information released by the Mechanicville Police Department, messages were being exchanged on June 10 concerning the planned murder of my children. That was the same day I was told the kids had a stomach bug and was asked to postpone my scheduled FaceTime call.”

He posted screenshots of alleged messages between himself and Sarah between 31st May and 11th June, in the week leading up to them going to stay with him in Utah. In the messages, he is getting everything ready for them to come and stay.

The first message on 31st May June showed Brady sending over their flight information for the flights he had booked for 1st July. On 5th June, Myers allegedly asked if they could sort out specific times for FaceTime over the summer and asked him to send over some child support money so she could buy them some new shoes.

In another message on 8th June, he asked her to send over some information regarding their “current interests and hobbies” so that he could plan ahead and “make the most” of his summer with the children. He also asked for their medical records. “Ok I will talk to the kiddos about the stuff they would like to do over the summer,” Myers replied, as if nothing was wrong.

On 10th June, the day that the children are believed to have been killed, the mother claimed the children had a stomach bug. “The kids have gotten a little stomach bug throwing up is it okay to switch your online visit to tomorrow night at 4pm your time, please,” she wrote. The father replied: “Okay I will keep painting then. Hopefully they feel better soon.” The following day, he asked, “Are the kiddos feeling better?” but got no response. The children had a stomach ache because they had been poisoned.

“Nothing in these conversations warned me about what was allegedly being planned behind the scenes. On June 10, I was told my children were sick. I responded that I hoped they felt better. The following day, I attempted the rescheduled call and received no answer,” Brady wrote. “I cannot understand how anyone could claim that this was done to ‘save’  my children from harm. The greatest possible harm was done to them. They were terrified, betrayed, and robbed of their lives by the very people who were supposed to protect them.

“My children were not pawns to be sacrificed when control was slipping away. They were four beautiful human beings with personalities, dreams, fears, laughter, and an entire family waiting to love them. They were denied the opportunity to spend the summer with me, reconnect with their grandparents, sister, relatives, and everyone who had waited so long to hold them again.”
