A new trend is taking over TikTok and Instagram called the AI Barbie Box challenge, where people are turning themselves into action figures – and it’s so easy to do!

It uses the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT to create a Barbie doll of you, complete with your name on the front and accessories that match your personality.

Your personal action figure is put into a little plastic box that looks so realistic you could literally pick it up from a toy shop shelf.

Here’s how to turn yourself into an AI Barbie doll

1. First, you need to go to ChatGPT and log in or create an account. You can do this on the app or on the website, it doesn’t really matter.
2. Then, click the + button and upload a picture of yourself that you want to turn into an action figure. It’s best to use a clear, full-length image that shows off your entire outfit.
3. Underneath the picture, copy and paste this prompt and fill in the gaps: Create a realistic action figure (Barbie doll) of the person in this photo. The doll should be full figure and displayed in its original clear plastic box packaging. At the top of the box is the name of the toy *insert your own name*. In the packaging, next to the figure are the toy’s accessories including *insert the items you want*.
4. Send the message and ChatGPT will respond with your Barbie doll image. It might take a while to create, so be patient. If you don’t like it, you can keep sending more messages with extra details, and ChatGPT will change the doll.

The more detailed and specific you are, the better!

You can change the prompt depending on what you want the doll to look like. Adding more detail will make it more specific, such as the colour of the box or a slogan that you want to appear at the bottom. Be creative!

If it’s not working or the doll doesn’t look like you, the image you’re using might not be clear enough, so try using a different one.
