People work out the crazy hidden meaning of The White Lotus season three’s opening credits
The pictures were hiding clues all along?!
We’re almost at the end of The White Lotus season three, and it looks like the opening credits showed what would happen to each character all along.
When each actor’s name appears, the background is a different illustration, and people are convinced they’re not just there for decoration.
Now that we know them better, it seems like each character’s storyline was hiding in plain sight at the start of every episode – and no one even realised!
Let’s take a look at every character’s opening credit picture and their hidden meanings.

Tim
When Jason Isaacs’ name comes on the screen, we see a man trapped in a tree with knives hanging off it, so he can’t get down. People are convinced this represents Tim Ratliff being trapped by his stupid business moves, which have left him in big legal trouble.
Saxon
Next to Patrick Schwarznegger’s name are two men peering at a topless woman who looks really uncomfortable. This seems to show Saxon Ratliff’s hyper-sexualisation of women and his creepiness surrounding them.
Piper
Sarah Catherine Hook plays Piper Ratliff, and her name is shown alongside an illustration of a woman meditating on a hill. This seemingly represents her strong interest in Buddhism and rejection of her family’s materialism.
Victoria
When Parker Posey’s name comes on the screen, who plays Victoria Ratliff, there are two monkeys and one of them is smoking a pipe. Throughout the season, her character has been high on prescription drugs.
Lochlan
Most Read
Sam Nivola’s illustration is a boy lying down in a lake with his hands in the air, wearing only his underwear. Could this be a major finale spoiler, showing who the dead character in the water at the start actually is?!
Rick
Walton Goggins’ opening credit picture is of a man standing alone in a tower, and people think this shows Rick’s isolation as he always kept himself to himself throughout The White Lotus season three.
Chelsea
Aimee Lou Wood’s tile shows a large tiger viciously killing another smaller cat while other animals watch. Does this represent some sort of violence coming at the end of Chelsea’s storyline? I really hope not.
Kate
When Leslie Bibb’s name comes on the screen, who plays Kate Bohr, it’s surrounded by an illustration of three elephants. These animals are known for having a good memory, and Kate remembered meeting Victoria 10 years ago.
Jaclyn
The image next to Michelle Monaghan’s name is a topless woman showing off her body on a balcony. She plays Jaclyn, and people think the tile represents the character’s obsession with being young and beautiful.
Laurie
Carrie Coon’s name, who plays Laurie Duffy, is next to an image of an elephant that’s alone, surrounded by a pack of eight other animals. People think this signifies Laurie getting left out of the girl group.
Belinda
Natasha Rothwell’s name appears with a heron-type bird looking at its reflection in a pool of water. She plays the spa manager Belinda Lindsey, and there’s a theory this relates to her recognising Gary as Greg.
Mook
When Lalisa Manobal’s name appears, the opening credits show a woman holding an umbrella while flirting with a man. She plays Mook, and the picture seems to hint at her slow-burn relationship with Gaitok.
