Erm, am I the only one who just found out that Miley Cyrus used to be in a relationship with Patrick Schwarzenegger? They dated for several months in the era when Miley Cyrus wasn’t with Liam Hemsworth. He had a crush on Miley Cyrus for years and years

Really. Way back in May 2011, he told Details magazine: “My eye is set on Miley.” This is when he was only 17. Apparently he’s a powerful manifester. There were rumours in 2011 that the pair had a fling while Miley Cyrus was on a break from Liam Hemsworth.

In November 2014, Patrick was studying at the University of South California. Miley had broken up with Liam Hemsworth yet again. She and Patrick were photographed kissing at a University of South California football game.

A source told US Weekly: “They have been friends for a long time. They have a ton of common friends, so they have run in the same circles for years.” Another said: “She thinks he’s hot, she thinks he’s cool. Patrick is a nice good guy. He’s grown up in Hollywood just like her and it was only a matter of time before they hooked up.”

Well, it stands to reason that all the Millenial Los Angeles-based nepo babies knew each other.

Pretty much once a week, there would be another paparazzi pic on Tumblr of them at a red carpet event or having brunch on the beach near Malibu. Ah, what a time. They went to the 2015 Grammys afterparty together. The couple confirmed they were official around Valentine’s Day. They each posted a selfie of them on Instagram. It wasn’t just a fling – Miley Cyrus did have lunch with Patrick’s mother Maria Shriver at the very fancy The Palm Restaurant in Los Angeles.

In March 2015, TMZ reported their relationship was getting serious. Apparently Miley Cyrus was “dressing conservatively” around Patrick’s mother Maria Shriver in order to impress him. The couple allegedly told all their friends they were determined to get married some day.

Er, maybe the 21-year-olds had seriously planned out their entire lives together. Or maybe they made one joke once and the US tabloids decided they’d have twenty kids together before the week was out.

The couple split up for good in April 2015

Their break-up appears to have been reasonably amicable? A source told People: “They’re just in two different places in their lives. He’s in college and she’s focused on her music and career.”

Patrick was then spotted partying at Coachella without Miley. She dated Stella Maxell next, then got back together with Liam Hemsworth in 2016. And the rest is history.

Miley Cyrus fans think she wrote BB Talk about him

That’s the song from 2015 with the extremely horrifying baby-themed music video. The lyrics describe being in a relationship with a boy who’s perfectly nice, but his baby talk gives Miley the ick and makes her want to vomit.

Some people speculated BB Talk is about Patrick because of the lyrics “I was sleeping next to him but I was dreaming about the other dude”, “even in front of your mom” and “you couldn’t be more opposite of my last d*ckhead”.
