Jacqui says her MAFS wedding to Ryan was totally different to what we saw on TV – here’s how
She called it ‘a shame’ things had been taken out of context
Last night we saw the wedding of Jacqui and Ryan on MAFS Australia 2025. And whilst to us at home it looked like a very awkward affair, Jacqui has insisted it was edited to look that way, and was very different in real life.
Bride and groom Jacqui and Ryan were clearly going to be characters from the moment we met them. They were quickly described as the “most confident” people ever cast on the show, with two huge personalities. They both have huge standards for themselves, and anyone who dates them. Ryan kept calling himself a “warrior” whilst Jacqui basically said nobody will ever be good enough for her. We need to strap in.
The wedding looked to us, shall we say, as very awkward. Jacqui didn’t seem to take well to Ryan’s humour, she was cold (literally and figuratively) and the couple seemed to clash personality-wise a few times. However, Jacqui has said this wasn’t 100 per cent what happened.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Jacqui has spilled all about her MAFS wedding to Ryan. “Ryan and I actually really did have really great eye contact at the end of the aisle,” she said. “We did lock eyes, we were looking into each other’s eyes very intimately. It’s a shame they’ve shown me looking away from Ryan when we did share that very special bond.”
She also said a lot of context for some moments had been removed, which changes a lot. “Everyone’s seeing one per cent of what’s going on. I was dealing with a lot of things that are not necessarily on camera,” Jacqui added.

“I was very specific with the experts about what I wanted in a husband—someone mature, emotionally intelligent, kind, and considerate. And I felt like Ryan wasn’t quite the anchor at the end of the aisle that I was hoping for.”
Things also didn’t look good, as Jacqui has said her family had doubts about Ryan during their MAFS wedding day. She said: “They were concerned that Ryan wasn’t marriage material. It looked like his friends party a lot, and I was worried I’d been matched with a party boy instead of someone who was ready to settle down.”
