Sheffield university student club night set to pause after 13 years
It was the only one of its kind
One of Sheffield’s university student club nights is set to pause after 13 years.
Hallamnation – the only Sheffield Hallam University student night – will take “a step back” from the beginning of April.
The final event will take place on 2 April as an “afterparty” to mark the end of Varsity 2025.
In a joint statement on Thursday evening, Hallam SU and Organised Chaos Events said: “By now, many of you have probably noticed that Hallamnation has been a little quiet.
“With Crystal now under new ownership and undergoing major changes, we’re putting Hallamnation on pause after years of wild nights, messy singalongs, and unforgettable memories.”
Crystal Bar on Carver Street has hosted the student night since it began.
The statement added this wasn’t the end of Hallamnation and the pause will enable the organiser’s to “make it better than ever”.
“We’re already working behind the scenes on something fresh, and trust us, you’ll want to be here for what’s next.”
The final three Hallamnation events of 2024 were all cancelled – the latter to make way for an “ultimate Christmas Bar Crawl”, and the first two as a result of low attendance in prior weeks.
It said in a statement on 27th November: “We know Hallamnation hasn’t been busy enough for you over the last few weeks, and we hate to disappoint, so we have decided to close tonight and next week.”
All tickets were refunded.
