Omg, Love Is Blind’s Monica used to model for book covers and here are the piccies to prove it
Not Joey’s fiancé secretly being a fairy warrior
I knew I liked Love Is Blind’s Monica Danús, and now, after learning that she used to model for young adult fantasy books I can totally see why Joey Leveille is as smitten as a kitten.
Joey and Monica are easily the most stable couple in the experiment, and though they have weathered a few storms such as Monica’s sister, I’m pretty certain they will be tying the knot. The same cannot be said for Lauren and Dave.
We know quite a bit about Monica already: She’s an incredibly light sleeper, absolutely adores Joey’s long hair, and she’s like really good at yoga. But Monica left one crucial detail out that I simply can’t get over – she once posed for SEVERAL fantasy book covers.
Love Is Blind’s Monica features on the books of Rachel Morgan
In the bowels of Reddit, beneath Lauren’s ex creating a Love Is Blind headshot and several memes about Devin taking 20 Ibuprofen, someone shared a blurry picture of books on Monica’s shelf. Looking into her reading tastes, which also included The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I spied a book model that looked eerily similar to Monica.
As it turns out, the reason it looks like Monica is because it is – in fact – Monica!
The book series in question is Rachel Morgan’s Creepy Hollow series which follows protagonist Violet on her quest to become a fairy guardian. It’s got magic, an inter-species relationship, and is very A Court of Thorns and Roses coded.
There are a whopping nine books in the series: The Faerie Guardian, The Faerie Prince, The Faerie War, A Faerie’s Secret, A Faerie’s Revenge, A Faerie’s Curse, Glass Faerie, Shadow Faerie, and Rebel Faerie.
How did Monica land a book cover?

After initially using stock images for her book covers, which meant other people could legally copy them, author Rachel Morgan contacted graphic designer Regina Wamba for some original artwork.
“So I decided my Creepy Hollow babies deserved some custom photography. I contacted Regina Wamba of Mae I Design (if you haven’t come across her work, she’s a fabulous photographer AND cover designer), gave her a whole lot of instructions, picked a model I thought could pull off Violet’s look, and voila! Regina did her magic!” she said in a blog post.
“I can’t tell you how excited I was when she sent the proofs from that photo shoot. I spent AGES combing through them to pick just three for these covers!”
In the comment section, when some inquired about the model on the front cover, Rachel added: “The model for Violet is Monica Danus. I’m glad to hear you think she’s perfect for Violet.”
How has this not come up??
