‘I wish they’d leave’: Brian Laundrie’s parents given hell every day by ‘loathing’ neighbours
Following Gabby Petito’s murder, the Laundries’ neighbours have openly said they leave dog poo on their doorstep
The parents of Brian Laundrie are said to be given hell every day by their neighbours since the death of their son and the murder of Gabby Petito. The couple have tried to keep a low profile after their son’s death, but locals from their area have spoken out about the life they live now.
After Gabby Petito was killed by Brian Laundrie, he returned home alone to his parents’ house. Christopher and Roberta Laundrie didn’t cooperate with police, and it was found that Roberta wrote a chilling letter to her son in which she said she would help him dispose of a body, should she need to.
It was widely believed the couple withheld information about their son. However, the Laundries have never been charged with a crime.

The couple are believed to still live in Newport, Florida. In 2024 they were pictured on their driveway, and Brian’s car was still parked there. They have tried to stay as out of the public eye as possible, and didn’t take part in the Netflix doc.
Neighbours of theirs have since spoken out, and said the community shares a “unanimous” dislike of them. Things have gotten so bad, neighbours are said to regularly leave dog poo on their doorstep.
‘Just horrible people’

One local told the New York Post things have escalated since the Netflix doc came out. “The more I watched, the more p*ssed I got,” one said. “When I pass their house, I get a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hate them, and I’ve never even met them. I wish they’d just leave.” Another added: “Just horrible people, in my belief. It’s unanimous. No one wants anything to do with them.”
Someone else said: “I wish them nothing but the worst. Seriously. I hope they know how much we all hate them here. I hope they know they don’t have any friends.”

Jorge Ruiz, a local resident, revealed the Laundrie family garden often sees people throwing rubbish, including dirty nappies and dog waste, onto it. They said Roberta Laundrie has often faced verbal assaults on her driveway, as reported by the Mirror US.
“That’s what you get,” they said. “That’s what you get when you prolong the pain of innocent people to protect someone you know is guilty. You reap what you sow.”
Since the Netflix documentary, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie have broken their previous silence. The released a statement to slam the doc for its “inaccuracies”.
