Did Love Island’s Ronnie and Harriett stage their split? Here’s why people think it was fake

I can’t decide if it’s genius or insidious

Twitter has speculated that Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore faked their breakup for an inevitable reunion on All Stars, and honestly, this might be one Love Island conspiracy theory that has got some legs.

Despite brief flings with Jess White and Tiffany Leighton on season 11 of Love Island in 2024, Ronnie Vint found his girl Harriett Blackmore early on and stayed with her for the duration. Though they split last year, sparks were flying this week when Harriett joined her former flame as one of the bombshells.

Soon enough, they were catching up on the infamous terrace and Ronnie claimed his feelings were “coming back” and “it’s always been you” despite Elma Pazar earlier uttering “I love you” to him.

Though most people were happy to see Ronnie and Harriett reignite their passion, some had suggested that the speed at which they did it was suspect. Here’s why.

Love Island’s Ronnie and Harriett broke up weeks after going home

After being dumped from Love Island last year, Ronnie and Harriett returned to their somewhat normal lives and continued their relationship. Unfortunately, just a few weeks later they split.

Following their breakup, Harriett told The Sun: “I love him so much but it just didn’t work as a relationship and that’s fine. We shared the most amazing experience together and I always have so much love and respect for him. It’s not often you share a villa experience with someone — and if people are calling it a showmance, it simply wasn’t a show. We have a special connection and I’ll always treasure that.”

When Ronnie and Harriett almost immediately rekindled when she entered the villa, many people speculated they’d staged the breakup to ultimately win Love Island All Stars with their triumphant story.

“No one can convince me that Ronnie and Harriet didn’t plan this ‘rekindling’ since last year. Ronnie & Harriet have done this to come on here, reunite and win Love Island,” one person said.

Another wrote: “‘Okay plot twist: what if Harriet and Ronnie never actually broke up and they both agreed to go on All Stars so they could win together?”

“I reckon Ronnie and Harriet faked a breakup and both came to get back on the show with the intention of coupling back up and winning because they know the public liked them. I’m getting instant set up vibes. explains Ronnie’s behaviour a lot,” someone else said.

Before entering the All Stars villa, Ronnie denied still having feelings for her but did not rule out a rekindling.

“I wouldn’t say they’re [feelings] there because I haven’t seen or spoke to her and I wouldn’t be doing this if I did have that. But who knows? If she did come in, I don’t know what could happen,” he told the MailOnline. “Potentially, yeah, but I’m not looking at it like that. I’m looking to see if I find someone new. But yeah, like I say, there’s no bad words to say and I think a lot of her.”

Only time will tell if their alleged prank pays off.
