Beyoncé to Kylie Jenner: Celebs who gave huge amounts of money to help with the LA fires

Kylie Jenner, Beyoncé and Paris Hilton have all made massive donations

The Los Angeles fires are truly terrible – over 40,000 acres of land have been burned, including at least 12,000 buildings. Here’s a rundown of all the celebs who’ve donated massive amounts of money to help people affected by the LA fires (and who then posted all about it on Instagram, of course).

Beyoncé donated loads of money

The Bey Good Foundation (the charity run by the people’s princess Beyoncé) did a big Instagram post announcing they were donating $2.5 million (£2 million) to the LA Fire Relief Fund. The post says, “The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centres to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.”

Paris Hilton is asking people to donate to her new emergency fund

She’s started an emergency fund through her charity 11:11 Media Impact. Paris Hilton, who has an estimated net worth of $300 million (£247 million), donated $100,000 (£82,000) herself, and offered to match the first $100,000 of donations the fund received.

Paris Hilton encouraged other people to donate, promising the fund will give cash to families and help people with kids stay in hotels.

The project seems to be going well so far – Paris said on Instagram that 3,000 people helped raise $520,733 (429,706) in the first 24 hours.

Paris Hilton lost her mansion in Malibu in the Palisades fire. She watched it burn down on live TV.

Prince Harry and Meghan donated money

CNN claims Harry and Meghan donated money through their organisation The Archewell Foundation.

The couple were photographed talking to elderly people and handing out food at the World Central Kitchen centre in Pasadena on the 10th of January.

Kylie Jenner asked her Instagram followers to donate their money

She wrote on her Instagram story, “Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. To help support the communities affected, we’re making a donation to the California Fire Foundation Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund. The Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund is an extension of the California Fire Foundation.”

It appears Kylie Jenner isn’t using the royal we – the “our” seemingly refers to her canned vodka company Sprinter Vodka Soda which was tagged in the Instagram post.

Kylie included a link to where her Instagram followers could donate their money.

Other Kardashians have been sending their thoughts and prayers instead.  Khloe Kardashian posted yet another lengthy prayer for the firefighters on her story today. It said, “May God watch over you and your loved ones, granting you protection and peace during this challenging time.”

Jamie Lee Curtis is now donating $1 million

Earlier this week, Jamie Lee Curtis was dragged for comparing the Los Angeles wildfires to Gaza. Now she’s made an Instagram post about how she, her husband their children are collectively giving $1 million (£825,000) to help people affected by the fires.

Jamie Lee Curtis comes from a long line of Hollywood stars. She and her husband Christopher Guest have about $60 million (£49.5 million) between them.

Hailey Bieber’s skincare company gave money

Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner faced a fair bit of backlash after they were paparazzied having sushi together during the Los Angeles fires. Hailey’s skincare company Rhose announced on Instagram that it was “supporting local organizations that are working tirelessly on the frontlines of the crisis”. It did not specify how much money it was giving, but encouraged others to donate.

Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand also donated

Drink 818 (Kendall Jenner’s tequila company) posted on Instagram that it made a donation to the CFF Wildfire & Disaster Relief Fund. It also listed other charities which people could support too.

Film companies have pledged they’re donating money

Disney (which made $91.4 billion (£75.4 billion) in 2024) has promised to donate $15 million (£12.3 million) to the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Los Angeles Regional Food bank.

Paramount says it will donate $1 million (£825,000) to organisations including California Fire Foundation, World Central Kitchen and Best Friends Animal Society. Paramount films made $880 million (£740 million) at the box office in 2024.
