YouTuber Yung Filly has been charged with rape: Here’s what we know and what’s happening

Today it has been reported YouTuber and rapper Yung Filly has been arrested and charged, following an accusation of rape and assault. According to multiple Australian outlets, he has appeared in court accused of the alleged assault, and choking a woman in his Perth hotel room after a show.
29-year-old Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was reportedly arrested on Tuesday and taken into custody in Brisbane, where he has been on tour. He was extradited to Perth on Wednesday. Videos have shown him being walked through an airport in handcuffs, following his arrest.

What are the charges against Yung Filly?
What we know so far is that Yung Filly has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in his Perth hotel room. The alleged incident is said to have happened on 28th September, after he performed at a venue in Hillarys, a northern coastal suburb of the capital of Western Australia.
He appeared before Perth Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday), charged with four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count of “impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure on, or to, their neck.”
At an initial court hearing, prosecutors presented images of a woman’s injuries, and Yung Filly appeared only to confirm his name and acknowledge the charges against him.
Western Australia Police said in a statement: “This investigation is ongoing and Sex Assault Squad detectives urge anyone with information relating to this matter, or any similar incidents, to call Crime Stoppers.”

As of now, Yung Filly has been released on conditional bail ahead of his next court date. Conditions of the bail include staying in the Western Australia area, a ban on contacting his alleged victim, or posting on social media about the case.
