The University of York has updated its lecture capture policy so the vast majority of lectures will be recorded.

All lectures must now be recorded unless they contain interactive sessions, contain sensitive or confidential information that cannot be recorded or if it has been affected by exceptional circumstances.

This means that very few lectures will now not be recorded, and is beneficial to students who want to revise content, or catch up on lectures that they have missed.

However, YUSU stress on their blog the new lecture capture policy could be overturned if a sharp decline in lecture attendance is noticed.
