RaW radio station in 50 hour non-stop broadcast for charity

They’ve been doing it in aid of Parkinson’s UK

The Warwick University radio station have been broadcasting since 12:00 pm on Wednesday and will finish at 2:00 pm on Friday, all in aid of their chosen charity, Parkinson’s UK.

The radio station is RaW 1251AM and the live broadcast is being aired on the Warwick Uni website.

The programme controller at RaW, Henry Riley said: ‘It has been the most remarkable and rewarding experience raising money for Parkinson’s through a tough endurance of what our society loves: live broadcasting! It’s been great fun doing live broadcasts at 5:00 in the morning in the library and Tesco! Parkinson’s affects one in every 500 people and is such a fantastic cause.’

The challenge has so far received support from alumni such as Timmy Mallett, patrons of Parkinson’s UK such as John Stapleton and The Cheeky Girls, and fellow radio presenters such as Chris Stark.
