Second year crowned Mr Nottingham is off to the finals of Mr England

He’s through to the final of Mr England

A bearded Trent tottie has been named Mr Nottingham.

Second year, Chris Wells was crowned Mr Nottingham yesterday after competing against five other hot hopefuls.

The product design student was shocked when his name was called out for first place.

He said: “Once third and second place had been called I thought ah well I tried my best.

“Then the sheer shock of my number being called out was surreal. It still is very surreal. My face still aches from smiling all night.”

The competition had multiple rounds including best vintage outfit, sports and finished with a formal round that saw the boys walking slowly along the catwalk to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking out loud.

Chris said: “I definitely sang along throughout the last round.

“I’m also pretty sure I serenaded somebody’s grandmother at one point.”

Chris, who has previously walked at London Fashion Week, also won the top model round.

“This round was so typical high fashion, so it was catwalk resting bitch face. I had to wear an outfit of my choice of that I believed to be fashionable.

“I was lucky enough to wear a bespoke outfit designed by Amber Boon who is a fashion student at Trent.”

The next stage for Chris is the final of Mr England later in the year.

“I am very excited for the next stage, I can’t wait.”

He added: “I look to have an amazing year ahead working alongside the organisers and other finalists through various events. Everybody that was involved made it an amazing experience.”
