Boiler room style party held in secret location on campus on June 8th

URF will be hosting a 6 hour back to back DJ session in a undisclosed location on campus

URF, the on-campus student radio station of Sussex, will be hosting a end of year party comprised of six hours of student DJs, a pop up bar, and special effects on June 8th.

Starting at 6pm and finishing around 12am, the event will be free entry and will be held in a secret location that will be revealed on their Facebook event within the next week.

You can check out the Facebook event here.

On the lineup, the student DJs who make up URF will be playing garage, house, drum & bass, and disco which will all be live streamed off their Facebook.

The event will be a good chance for those who have finished their assessments to relax, party, and support a long-existing society of Sussex.

Station manager, Fin Evans, had this to say:

“I’m looking forward to launching something exciting and fresh on campus and I’m expecting the reaction to be pretty good when people experience what we’ve got planned!

“This event is going to be a great way to showcase some of the underground musical talent at Sussex which doesn’t get shown the limelight very often”

URF recently held a band night in association with Smashed Vinyl (both a radio show and music publication) with a very impressive turnout. The lineup also included students who brought in a significant crowd. It was from this success, that the idea of the boiler room party was born.
